Exercise is important after ostomy surgery but many patients are concerned about proper techniques for exercising. Strengthening your core and pelvic floor muscles are most important for preventing an hernia. It is strongly recommend ythat you find a physiotherapist that is familiar with ostomies and the can help you with core strengthening. Being able to correctly do exercises and to follow an exercises program that is designed for you will be best.
